Reopening Note from Shaun Hill
We are delighted, and relieved, to be able to reopen on Thursday 6th August for both lunch and dinner.
There are lots of rules and regulations attached to this happening. We will only be able to take around half of our usual number of guests because of social distancing measures. Similarly we will only be allowed around half the number of chefs at a time in the kitchen so will need to spend days closed preparing the food in addition to those we can open. Our dishes are often described, approvingly but maybe misguidedly, as simple but are in fact only simple in presentation and involve much skilled and time consuming effort. So for the next couple of months or until guidelines change, we will only be able to open for three days a week, Thursday through to Saturday.
Other changes are minor. We will ask you to pour all your own wine, will use disposable menus and a short wine list, also disposable, in addition to our full offering which will involve scrolling through the list on our ipad. The full list is on the website if you have the time and inclination to choose in advance. We will offer a menu choice of four starters, four main courses and four puddings, plus the usual lunch menu. There will also be a vegetarian main course option if you ask.
Hopefully, this restricted service and choice will be very temporary but the standards will be the same as ever.
Look forward to seeing you again
